Bamboo has a positive impact on global environmental concerns such as water scarcity, deforestation, soil erosion and the greenhouse effect. Bamboo is a by far more sustainable textile than cotton available to help create a better world. Sadly with a big interest in fibre, a lot of bamboo fabrics no longer are sustainable due to rapid and wasteful harvest.

Gladly, this bamboo is organic and certified by EcoCert. Organic is the only system that eliminates highly toxic substances from the environment and instead works holistically, for the long-term benefit of people and the planet.

Organic farmers use natural methods to grow bamboo, not fossil-fuel-based fertilizers, which makes the soil more sponge-like what significantly reduces water use. A lot of organic farmers rely on rainwater and re-use it over time to reduce waste.

    Low impact dyes

Dyes give me endless possibilities to give you the most unique colours. I use low impact dyes that have been classified by the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 (an international certification process) as eco-friendly. Low-impact dyes do not contain toxic chemicals or mordants (which fix the dye to the fabric), require less rinsing and have a high absorption rate in the fabric.

Dyes are free from heavy metals and AZO's (nasty compounds found in most dyes)

    Printing inks

The formulations are manufactured with ecologically responsible care and are therefore APEO (Alkylphenol ethoxylates) and Ethylenglycol free. My colours meet the requirements of OEKO-TEX, and GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard). The pigments meet the EU, German and US requirements for limiting PCB and Dioxin/Furan trace contaminations, as well as meeting the ETAD requirements for limiting heavy metal, trace contamination.

    All products used are vegan.

Fabric has been pre-washed at 40° to prevent shrinkage and remove any chemical residue. Bought from a fair trade supplier.
